Bar City & Stari Bar Tour (by train)

Service Description

We meet at Podgorica Train Station at 08:45 AM. After purchasing our tickets, we board our train, a relic from the old Yugoslavia era, at 09:12 AM to begin our adventurous journey. We observe the scenery along the way, passing by Lake Skadar and through the mountains, arriving in Bar, a seaside town, at 10:21 AM. We walk to the town's coastline and reach the Marina, where valuable yachts are moored. After a photo stop, we visit King Nicholas I's winter palace near the shore. Following a coffee break on the beach, we visit the magnificent St. Jovan Vladimir Church, admiring its splendor. We then travel to the old town, "Stari Bar." We explore the streets of old Bar, an important city of the Ottoman Empire, and learn about its history. We have lunch at a restaurant in a fantastic location where you can sample authentic Montenegrin cuisine. After lunch, we arrive at the fortress located in the upper part of the city and take a tour of the fortress. We photograph the fortress streets and remaining structures against the backdrop of the magnificent view of Bar. Next, we stop at a local shop where you can sample local rakija or pomegranate juice and buy naturally scented soaps, before heading to Bar Train Station for Podgorica. The train departs at 17:03 and arrives in Podgorica at 18:06.
